Care Instructions
Keep your retro handheld in top condition with these care and maintenance tips.
Important: Unauthorized disassembly, modification, or repair of your device will void the warranty. If you experience issues, please contact support first.
Screen Care
- Always power off the device before cleaning the screen.
- Use a microfiber cloth to gently wipe the screen — avoid paper towels or rough fabrics.
- For stubborn smudges, lightly dampen the cloth with water or screen-safe cleaner. Never spray directly onto the screen.
- Apply a screen protector to prevent scratches (sold separately).
- Avoid pressing hard on the screen, especially during gameplay.
- Keep the device away from direct sunlight for extended periods to prevent screen damage.
Battery Maintenance
- Charge the device using the included USB-C cable and a compatible charger (5V/2A recommended).
- Avoid letting the battery fully discharge. Charge when it reaches 20% to prolong battery lifespan.
- Do not overcharge. Unplug the device once it reaches 100%.
- If storing the device for an extended period, charge it to approximately 50% before storage.
- Use only the included or manufacturer-approved charging accessories to prevent damage.
- Avoid using the device while it is charging, as this can generate excess heat.
Cleaning
- Power off the device before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
- For sticky residue, use a small amount of isopropyl alcohol on a cloth — never pour liquid directly on the device.
- Clean the buttons and joystick crevices with a soft brush or cotton swab.
- Ensure all ports are free of dust and debris using compressed air if needed.
- Never submerge the device in water or any liquid.
Storage
- Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Use a protective case or pouch when not in use to prevent dust accumulation and scratches.
- Remove the microSD card if storing for a long period to prevent corruption.
- Keep the device away from magnets and strong magnetic fields.
- Store at room temperature (50°F–77°F / 10°C–25°C) for optimal battery health.
Joystick & Button Maintenance
- Avoid excessive force when using the joysticks and buttons — gentle, precise inputs extend their lifespan.
- If using Hall Effect joysticks, rest assured they are resistant to stick drift, but still avoid rough handling.
- Clean around the joystick bases regularly to prevent dust buildup.
- If buttons feel sticky, clean around the edges with a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol.
- Do not disassemble the device yourself — this will void your warranty.
General Maintenance
- Keep the device's software up to date for optimal performance and security.
- Regularly back up your microSD card data to prevent loss.
- Use a surge protector when charging to protect against power spikes.
- If the device overheats during use, pause gameplay and let it cool down.
- Handle the USB-C port with care — avoid yanking the cable; grip the connector to unplug.
Travel Tips
- Always use a protective travel case when transporting your handheld.
- Keep the device in your carry-on luggage when flying — never check it in.
- Bring a portable power bank for extended trips.
- Eject and safely store the microSD card during rough transport.
- Avoid leaving the device in a hot car — extreme heat can damage the battery and screen.
